Organic Red Cored Chantenay Carrot - Daucus carota
A seriously tasty carrot! Sweet, crisp, and no need to peel, this French heirloom deserves a spot in your garden!
For best results, direct sow carrots in a few batches. Keep them moist for the 2 weeks or so that they take to germinate, and keep the watering even throughout their growing season. Stressed carrots taste more bitter, happy carrots taste sweeter.
Counterintuitively, it's best to plant carrots in somewhat less fertile soil. Very rich soil encourages carrots to branch.
